Intercultural experienced, a growth mindset & tech-savvy: the NextGhanaGen is coming +++
… and Bismark is one of this new generation. 1 year ago, we spoke the first time with him – on the phone. He was still in Germany, just completing his exchange program WELTWÄRTS. The program is an initiative by the German government and allows young talents from Africa to spend one year in Germany while working on a social volunteering project. The program works as well in the other direction, sending young Germans to development projects across the world.
Bismark impressed us with his mindset – he wanted to volunteer back in Ghana while starting his own business in the recycling sector. Aged 22, he decided against a standard career, and chose the entrepreneurial approach rather – driven by impact and purpose.
Since he joined the team, he is the ideal link between our German volunteers and the Ghanaian culture. For us, this is the proof for the impact of exchange programs like weltwärts, which opens new perspectives for individuals and upskills them in a way only intercultural exposure can do.
Bismark is also an asset for our organization as he developed quickly into a Raspberry Pi & Coding guru, which is core of our trainings. He studied day and night to prepare our very first school trainings and is now a true superuser – SUDO COKE!
Grow Ghana wanted to thank Bismark for his first year with us and his continous effort & impact. We are looking forward to a long-lasting working relationship and are excited about the new programs that we will implement together. With heart, fun, effort and dedication. Thank you, Mr. Bismark!
